HAPPY INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY

I want to say a happy international women’s day to all the women and girl’s out there. I appreciate the efforts women put to make the world a better place. Even if some women in some parts of the world aren’t noticed and appreciated by their community they still don’t give up. They work so hard to keep their homes in order and sometimes balancing it with their jobs. I want to call out all the men out their to show more love to women. Once again, I want to say a happy international women’s day to you all. Much love and thanks from me.

Great People to Remember

Hello everyone, I want to thank you all for the support you have given me. I really appreciate and it is very encouraging. Thank you.

For my next ten posts I want to talk about great people to remember. Great men and women who lived great lives, though, some didn’t live to see the results but we still remember and benefit from the battle they selflessly fought. The first person I want to talk about is Martin Luther King Jr.

Martin Luther king Jr

Born Martin King Jr on January 15,1929 in Atlanta, Georgia was an american clergyman, activist, humanitarian, and leader in the African-American Civil Rights Movement. He is best known for his role in the advancement of civil rights using nonviolent civil disobedience. He was married to Coretta Scot and he had four kids; Yolanda, Martin, Dexter, and Bernice.

He was an american church leader and the son of early civil rights activist and minister Martin Luther King Snr. He was the first president of the Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC). King led and participated in marches for the right to vote(for blacks), desegregation, labor rights and other civil rights. He was an icon of freedom for blacks. He fought hard against the discrimination and sufferings blacks in American faced. He was arrested several times and was constantly investigated and spied on by the FBI. They even mailed him an anonymous threatening letter in 1964. But all these didn’t make him cower in fear.

On October 1964 King won the Nobel Prize for combating racial inequality  through nonviolent resistance. In 1965, he helped organize two of the three Selma to Montgomery marches. In his final years, he expanded his focus to include opposition towards povertycapitalism, and the Vietnam War. In 1968, King was planning a national occupation of Washington, D.C., to be called the Poor People’s Campaign, when he was assassinated on April 4 in Memphis, Tennessee. His death was followed by national mourning, as well as anger leading to riots in many U.S. cities. King was posthumously awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1977 and the Congressional Gold Medal in 2003. Martin Luther King Jr. Day was established as a holiday in cities and states throughout the United States beginning in 1971; the holiday was enacted at the federal level by legislation signed by President Ronald Reagan in 1986. Hundreds of

He was a great man. A brave one in fact who fought courageously. Sadly, he didn’t live to see his dream being fulfilled. Even though he is dead now, he still lives in our hearts.

I have a dream

Dream a Dream Today

  • What are dreams and visions

Etymology and definition

The word dream originated from Middle English dreem, from Old English drēam noise, joy, and Old Norse draumr dream; akin to Old High German troum dreamMiddle English dreem, from Old English drēam noise, joy, and Old Norse draumr dream; akin to Old High German troum dream.

The merriam Webster Dictionary defines ‘dream’ as an ideal or goal toward which one aspires. Another Dictionary puts it this way ; ‘ A strongly desired goal or purpose. A writer once said; A dream is not that which we see in our sleep, it is that which does not allow us to sleep.

Why should we Dream Big

” A life without a dream is a bird with a broken wing, it can’t fly”. Without dreams in our life it becomes difficult to succeed and progress in our life. Dreams leads us to success, to our purpose, to a meaningful life. “Dreams makes us wonder, dreams open possibilities, dreams makes us believe in a better future”

Do you have a dream?, Is it Big? Have you given up on your dreams?

Some people today either have no dream(s) or they had dreams. Most times it is doubt, fears and failures that prevent people from dreaming big or make them give up on their dreams. Never allow the fear of failure or failure itself to prevent you from dreaming and never doubt yourself

Doubts kills more dreams than failure ever will

Suzy

You just have to believe in yourself and start dreaming today. Don’t be afraid to dream big because no dreamer is too small and no dream too big. It is never too late to start dreaming.

What if you have failed. It maybe once, twice or several times but it doesn’t matter because “Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently “._Henry Ford

Failure is not the falling down, but the staying down

Mary Pickford

Also, it is one thing to dream and it is another to chase it. Chase your dreams, pursue them, because dreams don’t work unless you do. ‘Follow your dreams, because the know the way’ Kobe Yamada once said. There are some people who live in a dream world, and there are some who face the reality;and then there those who turn one into another. Be that person who turns his/her dreams into realities. It maybe scary at first but have courage. You never realize how strong you are until being strong is the only option you have. What you can dream, you can achieve.

How To Achieve Your Dreams

  • Have a vision
  • Be confident and positive
  • Create goals and break them into pieces.
  • Don’t procrastinate
  • Take a step towards achieving your goals each day and make them fun.
  • Don’t compare your progress or self with others.
  • Find wise help. Talk to people that have achieved their dreams and ask how they did theirs.

Develop your own mantra and use it to motivate yourself

Everybody needs motivation; however, what you need to cultivate the most is self-motivation. Who will motivate you and keep you alive if not yourself? Find a key phrase, a quote from your favourite person, a quote from yourself, a sentence from a book, etc., that motivates you. In this way, when you feel that you are losing your energy, read it out loud and continue.

Dream! Dream! Dream! and by all means keep dreaming because one day you will look back and be happy you never gave up.

Introduction

Hello everyone and welcome to Express. I am Shadrach Zeal Chike and am a writer. I decided to take up writing as an occupation (no longer a hobby) last year. I really love to write and write and read and I believe that with a pen, paper and readers we can change the world

Row your boat

At night the body of clouds advancing higher up the sky smothers the whole quiet gulf below with an impenetrable darkness, in which the sound of the falling showers can be heard beginning and ceasing abruptly—now here, now there. Indeed, these cloudy nights are proverbial with the seamen along the whole west coast of a great continent. Sky, land, and sea disappear together out of the world when the Placido—as the saying is—goes to sleep under its black poncho.

The few stars left below the seaward frown of the vault shine feebly as into the mouth of a black cavern. In its vastness your ship floats unseen under your feet, her sails flutter invisible above your head. The eye of God Himself—they add with grim profanity—could not find out what work a man’s hand is doing in there; and you would be free to call the devil to your aid with impunity if even his malice were not defeated by such a blind darkness.

Gently down the stream

The dawn breaks high behind the towering and serrated wall of the Cordillera, a clear-cut vision of dark peaks rearing their steep slopes on a lofty pedestal of forest rising from the very edge of the shore. Amongst them the white head of Higuerota rises majestically upon the blue. Bare clusters of enormous rocks sprinkle with tiny black dots the smooth dome of snow.
